A week targeting steep lines throughout the Tarentaise. We'll aim to seek out the lines in best condition throughout the valley. Getting steep lines in pristine conditions usually means splitboarding or hiking for access, but we'll try to keep our eyes on the steep prize and keep the hikes as short as we can to keep our legs fresh.
A big group can be awkward or even risky when riding steeper terrain, so this course has a maximum of 4 clients to keep things flowing safely. As a result, the course price is slightly higher.
Program:
Arrive in resort and check in to the Lodge on Saturday 24th February. The course includes 5 days of guided riding. This will generally be Monday-Friday, giving you Sunday as a warm-up day to get your legs moving, but we may change this to a mid-week rest day if it suits the snow and weather conditions better. Check out of the lodge on Saturday 2nd March.
Accommodation:
Dragon Lodge, Tignes. The legendary snowboard base camp in the centre of Tignes! Accommodation and prices based on twin-sharing. No single supplements as long as you're happy to share with another solo rider.
Meals:
Breakfast included every day. Evening meals 5 nights per week, plus afternoon tea and cake.
TRAVEL:
Tignes is a mega resort, with transfer options available from Geneva, Lyon, Chambery and Grenoble airports.
Riding level:
This course is for more advanced riders. Ideally, you'll have been on one of my freeride courses already. You should be very comfortable in most freeride terrain and looking to challenge yourself on steeper slopes and in tighter spaces.
fitness level:
You should have a decent level of fitness as we will very likely have to hike or use splits in order to find steep lines in good condition. You want to have some margin so that your legs are ready for the descent!
Equipment required:
Standard snowboard gear. Avalanche safety equipment loan is included in the course price if you don't have your own. If we need snowshoe or splitboard gear, this can be rented locally.
